WHO WE ARE

THE OKANAGAN SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGNERS includes more than 55+ Registered, Associate, Intern, Student, Industry and General members located throughout BC’s interior, extending from Kamloops to the South Okanagan and Kootenay regions. We are represented by a progressive and diverse community of professional Interior Designers who call some of BC’s fastest growing and beautiful communities home.
Registered Interior Designers in the OSID all have one thing in common — we have each invested a minimum of six years to obtain our professional certification, through accredited education, mentored work experience and an intensive series of professional exams. In addition to this, RID professional members are required to carry professional liability insurance, participate in ongoing CEU professional development and uphold a professional code of ethics and standards of practice. As Registered Interior Designers we are certified with the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications, and are registered members of our professional regulatory body; the Interior Designers Institute of BC |
WHAT WE DO
Interior Design is about more than just aesthetics. It's about understanding people's behaviour, lifestyle, corporate culture, and functional requirements to create innovative and functional design solutions for interior environments, while supporting the health, safety, and well-being of occupants and enhancing their quality of life and culture. We collaborate with clients and other professionals, such as architects and engineers, to ensure solutions not only satisfy the needs and resource of the client, but also adhere to the building code and regulatory requirements, and also encourage the principles of environmental sustainability.

PLAYDo you like to have fun? We do! We have fun designing your favourite restaurants, recreation centres, theatres & hotels. We also draw on an extensive knowledge of health authority, liquor licensing, building codes and functional planning to make sure that nothing interferes with your fun.
